Sunday Card fun!

I hate knowing I have to go back to work tomorrow - been doing Card Sketches this weekend and having so much fun. Today CPS put up their sketch for the week and since I had this October Afternoon paper on my desk I used it for this card. But to start with I used my new Score-it and some core'dinations cardstock to emboss the lines on the card - wow it's so fun and easy to use and look what a fabulous background it makes on the card! I added this adorable little lion I got on some puffy stickers by Sandylion and a Scenic Route ( boo hoo - have you heard they are closing shop??? They are one of my all time FAVORITE paper lines!) tag a little pin I got from Fancy Pants and done. The second card just kind of fell into place when I was shuffling around the same papers.

And then since I can't seem to get enough of them lately I picked up this sketch over at Unscripted Sketches and using some Best Creations papers made this little friend's card. NOW I'm going to go clean my bathrooms (no more excuses!) and then off to meet Brandy and go see FAME ! She's already seen it but being my dancer girl - can never get enough! So we dance lovers are going to go enjoy our afternoon!

Car Patterns

What a fabulous sketch over at Card Patterns today. Had so much fun with it. This card I made using some Creative Imaginations paper, a prima flower and some stitching. Thanks for stopping by!

Cardvarks - Saturday - last day of Sketchfest

WOW - Saturday already! YEAH! I was afraid with working I wouldn't get to do all the sketches but guess it just depends on what you set your mind to. For a change it's sunny and bright out today - yeah - makes me happy! It's rained all week here and much as we need the rain I'm not ready for the cool fall weather to hit south Texas. Today once again I went with two cards. The first card is with some Imaginisce papers I have and several Cornish Hen stamps. The second one is with some 3 Bugs papers.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sketchfest at Cardvarks - Friday

Ok it's Friday and of course busy as all get out at work! Getting everyone out of the hospital on Friday just turns into crazy city! Then I had to meet some people so got home later than I wanted but of course needed to get my sketch done for today! Couldn't miss the fun at Cardvarks! Fabulous sketch as usual and just right for these papers I got from Imaginisce. Thanks for the fun!

Cardvarks - Thursday Sketchfest

This is just so much fun doing these sketches by Cardvarks - today I got home a little early and since I couldn't decided which paper I wanted to use for this sketch - I just did both of them. The first card I did with some Crate Paper I just picked up at the LSS - the second sketch I did with some Paper Trunk that I got quite awhile ago and just have had away in my stash.

Once again thanks for stopping by

Cardvark s- Day Four-Wednesday

Happy Wednesday! WOW week's half over - yeah! This has been so much fun doing these sketches - something to look forward to every day. Went to the doctor today to get a referral to a podiatrist. Stupid health system - wait two - four hours for your regular doctor to refer you to the specialist you know you need to go to! Whatever! So she felt and found two what she thinks are probably bone spurs that are causing the pain. Charlie says he's going to trade me in for a younger model - I seem to be falling apart (just 3 weeks from my back surgery to get rid of a cyst on my spine!) Told him good luck! Well I knew it wouldn't be all week before I went digging into the core'dinations (oh do I love this cardstock!) Added a piece of American Crafts paper, some Jillibean tags and some lace and a little prima flower. Thanks for stopping by!

Cardvark s- Day Two -Tuesday

Another wonderful sketch from Cardvarks today. AND since it's rained since 5 am this morning ( and I'm NOT complaining - we need it desperately) I only thought it appropriate to use this paper and make a little card to highlight the wonderful showers we have gotten! Patterned Paper is by Piggy Tails and the clear stickers are by American Crafts. Thanks for the wonderful sketch. I was afraid the picture wouldn't come out decent since it's all dreary and cloudy but it seems to be fine. Thanks for stopping by - and now I'm off to check on everyone's cards!

Cardvark s- Day Two - Monday

Hi! It's Monday and back to work for me. Started rounds at 6:30 am! But I managed to get home, walk and then whip this out. AND stop by Hobby Lobby and get some more Copic markers while they were on sale. Thanks Cardvarks for another great sketch! My only regret is that I'm not going to have time to go and look at everyone's cards until probably the end of the week and everyone does such an awesome job with the sketches! I love checking out everyone's blog! Course now by the time I decided to try to add the pins the light was fading so the picture isn't quite as good as the other one but trust me it's the same card!

Card Sketch Heaven today

Happy Sunday morning! I made it through the entire week - tired but back to work again. It's hard to remember I'm not supposed to lift things but all I have to do is overdo and I remember - lol. So many cool sketches this week- could hardly wait to get started AND I have two birthday cards to get to some time today. First of all I saw this sketch on Linda Beeson's blog and hadn't seen Unscripted Sketch blog before so went over to check it out and of course ended up doing the sketch. This is some My Mind's Eye paper I've had together with some prima flowers and one of the new Making Memory brads I picked up at Michael's the other day. AND one of my favorite stamps from Cornish Hens.

Next I started the week long challenge of a card a day at cardvarks. I'm going to TRY to keep up this week although it's really hard working all week. This card I did as double duty - I need about 50 Christmas cards for t he folks at work so got the Basic Grey Let It Snow line which is so cute. Added a few Martha Stewart snowflakes and some of my favorite Memory Makers ribbon and done for day one!

Then over at another one of the sketch sites I really like, CPS I found some more inspiration and made another card with the Basic Grey collection together with some clears from Creative Imaginations and again the Martha Stewart punch.

Then I've also become addicted to this sketch blog, Card Patterns and loved the sketch this week. Of course Core'dinations papers came into mind right away and I used some of my new Cuttlebug embossing folders on this one. Added some ribbon I got in one of the $1.00 bins at Michaels and a couple of pins . Loved this sketch!

And then core'dinations sent us some October Afternoon to play with so started off with this card. I used a cuttlebug embossing folder, added some ribbon and a tag.

Still not done - found some more sketches I want to do this afternoon so if you like it come back later!

Wednesday, September 16, 2009

Well week's half way over - I have to admit it's been a long one on me - went back to work. I have only been doing it part-time - I'm still so tired that I just can't handle longer yet. But it's good - glad to be back. Ok ready - here's another card sketch! Found this one over at 2 Sketches 4 You - isn't it great. You ought to see what their DT did with it. I used some of these cute stamps from Storage Units Ink and More. The paper is from My Mind's Eye.

Next I have a page to show for core-dinations. For this page I used a piece of the Jenni-Bowlin/core'dinations papers, sanded them to show the writing through and the tan backpaper, then used the Jenni-Bowlin Papers and tags for my page. I also used a piece of the core'dinations papers and embossed it with one of my favorite embossing plates from Friskars to use around my photos.

Lastly wanted to show off a card I did with my kit from IAAS together with a piece of core'dinations papers which I embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

WOW can't believe it's already Sunday - going to try to go back to work tomorrow. Guess it was just deciding to try it on Monday - think I overdid - went and ran some errands Friday and then tried to do some bathroom cleaning yesterday and think I've probably overdone. Going to go in tomorrow and may just plan to stay for 1/2 a day. My dh thinks it's too soon but we will see. Of course I did get some scrapping in this weekend though. I've become addicted to these card sketches. ALSO I found some cute stamps at Michael's on Friday made by Recollections (who I'm thinking may be a Michael's brand?) Anyway wanted to play with them and use my Copic markers. So for the first one here's the sketch at Card Patterns. Used the stamps I was telling you about with some old SEI I have hoarded and added a little stitching too.

The next sketch I did was the one for CPS. For this one I used some Crate Paper which again I have hoarded but the colors are perfect for a jungle like theme. Are these stamps not adorable?

Then when I was looking at the new September Card Maps I found a sketch that enticed me to open this Basic Grey packet that has been - yes - sitting here in my stash! AND I used a ribbon that I have had forever but knew would be perfect for something someday! It fades from one color to another - pretty cool!

Then just because I was into playing with my stamps today could not pass up the opportunity to use some of my favorite stamps from Kim Hughes with Cornish Hens. Somehow I actually bought this set TWICE!!! Now Kim is also enjoying this set! The patterned paper is Scenic Route which I was using for a layout (which I will show off when I get it done - waiting for the journaling from my niece - it's about her little one!)

Next just because I was strolling through my stash I found this pretty Heidi Grace paper and made a card with it. I used some glitter in the center's of the flowers.

And because a day would just not be complete without using core'dinations I made this card with some yummy October Afternoon and some Jenni'Bowlin/core'dinations papers - also added some core'dinations papers on here as well. Then used one of my Spellbinder embossing/cutting folders to cut out the tag behind the farm animals. The little postage tag from OA is just so cute!!!

And lastly I have been waited to scrap this picture for the right paper and in going through my stash saw my Webster's Pages and decided that it was exactly what I needed. Kim doesn't like the picture but I did so I did it for me! The girl's were so pretty at their recital and they did so well. They have come along way this year in their dance. Now that Madison (the oldest) is a cheerleader her confidence has caught up with her natural talent and she's wowing us all!

Thanks for stopping by - will probably be next weekend before I can get time to post again!

Thursday, September 10, 2009

Well here it is Thursday - yesterday went back to the doctor and he's cleared me to go back to work Monday (if I felt like it as he said). The car riding seems to be the biggest problem - when I'm at home I can keep from leaning back on things but there's no choice in the car. SO today I made cards! First I made this card from some of the awesome Core'dinations papers I saw the little flower arrangement on a flower pattern at CK and just instantly knew it would be perfect with the core'dinations papers. Can I say once again how much I love this cardstock! It's just so versatile and dresses up everything I use it on. I used several different cuttlebug embossing folders and edges for this one. I also did some sketches as you can see as you scroll down.

First I found some more Card sketch sites - this one is from My Sketch World. I dug into some of my many many papers from My Mind's Eye for this one. Also wanted to add just a little more color to my flower so colored with some of my new Copic markers - liked the results.
Then I jumped on over to the Cardvarks page and found three sketches!!! WOWSERS and they were all cool. So for a chance with nothing "due" I just played with my stash making these cards.
This is Sketch #1. For it I pulled out some of what I think are some of the cutest papers I've seen in a long time - from Imaginisce. And of course played with my new loopy punch from Martha Stewart.

For Sketch #2 I pulled out some Crate Paper I'ld been hoarding. Have to give total credit for this one to the inspiration I found by a card done by one of the Design Team - Jenn B - her card gave me the umph to use this new Hero Arts stamp I bought the other day - and then of course more of the new Copic markers I got! And I don't know where I got this neat ribbon - but it's a strip of leather with stitching which was perfect with these papers!

Then finally Sketch #3. For this I pulled out this shiney bright Best Creations paper I got the other day that just spells girly loud to me. Used some of my favorite letter stickers from Webster's and Making Memories and once again my loopy Martha Stewart punch. Thanks Cardvarks for all the inspiration!
