Saturday with Unscripted Sketches

Hope everyone had a great Christmas.  We had a houseful here - ALL my kids were here (Charlie's not so) but that in itself presents a huge houseful - Kim with 7 in her group, Kristi (from Georgia) with her four, Jason and Maria, Brandy and me and Charlie.  Everyone had a wonderful time even though I worked Christmas day and they had already torn through the packages by the time I got home.  I really intended to try to put together a favorite 12 pages from this last year but haven't got around to it since Kristi and Gene are still here and want to spend time with them.  We are having a barbeque here today with fajitas and all the trimmings.  Did I say Charlie is an excellent cook!  Kids are all having a ball and we have had lots of 42 domino playing time which everyone enjoys.  Trying to teach the youngest generation to play but haven't gotten them hooked on it yet.

Will try to put together a list of my favorites from this year and post later today.  Still working my way through my last Glossamer Blue kit and have two more Noel kits sitting here.  My computer wiz SIL is here and trying to remember all the questions and problems I have with this so that I can get it all fixed before he leaves!
If I don't get back on Happy New Year to everyone - please be safe.  I'll be working and hoping that everyone is taking this advise and not in to spend the day with me!

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas!!

Well I'm totally unprepared to have a houseful this Christmas but it's happening.  We have spent the last several years up in Arlington and Eastland at our kids house but this year it has somehow at the last minute moved here.  AND my son already raided the Christmas box and took all the ornaments and goodies to his house.  My husband accidentally threw away the BRAND NEW $300 tree I got for $100 three years ago thinking it was the old one.  Old one still here but doesn't have the base and pole - threw those out with the new box.  SO I have a houseful of kids coming -didn't put up lights because we are showing the house and hopefully moving.  I think I have one strand of beads to put on the fireplace. AND I changed with someone to work Christmas so I could be off Friday to be with Brandy for a medical procedure.  But I'm sure it will all work out - will have ALL my kids here (not Charlie's though), most of the grandkids.  We will have a huge barbeque on Saturday for everyone still here and friends.  Can't wait!

This is my card for Unscripted Sketches this week.  Not really my favorite but festive.

Here's my page for this week over at CSI.  This is one of my favorite photos from years ago.  My granddaughter Madison and family went with me to a Christmas party at  a friend's house.  Her husband was Santa and Madi was fascinated with his silky beard.  I have another photo which is buried in the garage - hoping we are every going to move boxes where she is kissing him that I've always felt was the best photo I have ever taken but I love this one of her stroking his beard.  All papers are from the December Noel Mignon kit.

And here are a few layouts from the December Gossamer Blue kit - still have tons and hope to scrap some with them tomorrow.

Sunday with some more Gossamer Blue

I had so much fun with this November kit from Gossamer Blue - here's two more pages I did - still have several sheet of pp left over and tons of embellishments.  BUT putting them aside to start on the December kit.  Loves these photos I took of my kids and their friends Thanksgiving - when they get dressed up for the holidays is the only time I can get them to pose for me anymore.  First up is Jason with his girlfriend, Maria.  They are just so happy together!
Had a great morning shopping at the Bealls sale.  Hubby and I got tennis shoes - buy one get one free.  Found two new sweaters and got one of those jackets that is fur lined and doesn't have any sleeves - have always wanted one.  AND some new slippers and a gift for my sister.  Just about checked off most of our list. Oh and a few sweaters for my son.  Would almost never shop for my daughter without her being along - tooo picky. Better just picking up the check!

Then Brandy with one of her bffs, Liz having a giggle over something.

Thanks for stopping by.

Saturday with Unscripted Sketches and CSI and some Gossamer Blue

Saturday already - been a short week for me since I worked Sunday, Monday AND Wednesday.  I was the discharge queen this week.  Downgraded three and discharged one to an LTAC.  I keep saying I'm an ICU nurse not a floor nurse but sure felt like a floor nurse this week.  Only one intubated patient in the entire unit SO call bells, bed pans, food trays and UGH.  But now I'm off - actually got to get out and walk yesterday but it's been raining all day today so that's out.  Went to run errands this morning and then had lunch with hubby at our favorite place.  Got tons of scrapping done so far.  Opened up my Glossamer kit from November (with CHA I haven't had a chance to play) and been knocking out layouts right and left.  I have three more kits to get through - another November kit from Noel Mignon as well as her December one and the December kit from Gossamer is in the mail now.
First up is my card for Unscripted Sketches - going with the Christmas theme this month.

Then here's my page for CSI this week.  The whole Case File isn't up yet but go over to CSI to see the entire Case as well as all the awesome inspiration this team brings.  With a hugely international design team there's tons of inspiration from this group!  This is my kids (middle three - missing one) with a friend and my son's girlfriend (left).  They had such a blast here Thanksgiving.  This week we had one of Ems sketches from Page Frames to work with.  I used Noel Mignon's November kit for my papers on this one.

Then these are the pages I have done with my November Gossamer kit - I still have tons left of it too.

And yes, I know I used the same photo again but I love it.  Thanks for stopping by!

Saturday with Unscripted Sketches and CSI

Another Saturday and burrrr it's cold here!  Hoping we are going to avoid the freezing rain though - don't know how I'll be able to get to work tomorrow if it freezes.  We live about 40 miles from my hospital and there are tons of bridges between here and there that I'm sure aren't going to be sanded down at 5 am.  Oh well will just have to see how it goes.
Hope you all enjoyed the Core'dination's and Tombow blog hop we had this week.  Lots of fun inspiration!  If you missed it scroll back to my last post and it will get you linked up.

Today I have a card from Unscripted Sketches for you.  Decided since it's December to get into the holiday spirit!

Next up is this week's Case File from CSI.http://csicolorstoriesinspiration.ning.com/  Loved this palette.  Almost never do a page about me but my computer deleted my picture photo shop and I had to use what I'd printed out.  This was the only one that fit the Case File but loved how it came out.  Used some of my favorite Core'dination's cardstock from Core Amour the Onyx collection.

Next we did a special Case File for a S365-3 program.  This was the Case File and here's how I solved it.  Again using some Core'dination's cardstock on this one.  This is from the Pink Paisley collection.

Then I had a couple of layouts I've done from my November Noel Mignon kit.  WAY behind on my kits - have this one - one from Gossamer (Nov), the Dec Noel Mignon kit and the December Gossamer  kit on the way.  Weaning my addiction down this year to one kit a month. The first page is little Gavin and his Daddy (my daughter's bff's baby and hubby)
Next is a page of my great nephew, Brayden, from his Make a Wish trip to Disney two years ago.

Thanks for stopping by!

Tombow and Core'dinations Blog Hop

Is everyone enjoying the hop so far?  What could be better than some of the prizes both companies are giving away this week!  Check out the prized at the Tombow and Core'dination's blogs!

Here is a card I created for the hop.  I've used Core'dination's Glitter Silk for this card.  I embossed it with a Darice Embossing folder, used some May Arts ribbon on it, a Dienamics Rose Die cut for my flower and a David Tutura sentiment.  Adhering it all together is a Tombow glue runner and some Tombow Dots

Next is another card again using both Core red cardstock as well as some more of the Glittle Silk - I just love the glitter - spells Christmas doesn't it.  Again the bow is from May Arts Ribbon, added a little Maya Road pin, some Queen & Co. pom poms and a Paper Studio clear sticker for my sentiment.

Happy Thanksgiving!!! Well our family style!

Hope you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving!  Mine  has just started.  When I was married the first time we spent our holidays on the road traveling between "his" family and mine and I swore that I wouldn't do that to my kids.  SO we always have our Thanksgiving on Saturday after Thanksgiving.  Not only does this allow me to fulfill my holiday requirement at work but it also makes it so much easier on my kids.  They are free to spend Thanksgiving day with others and we celebrate on Saturday.  With the his, mine, and ours that we have we usually end up with in the neighborhood of 15-30 people.  I also take in some orphans from work so makes for a fun day.  My eldest came in last night, my youngest daughter already here and her bff (claim her as well) arrived last night.  We sat and played 42 most of the evening and just generally had a great time.  Today is turkey day.  All I have left is to put together the dressing and we should be ready.  Luckily I have a hubby who loves to cook and all that's required of me is turkey dressing.
Today I have a card for you for Unscripted Sketches.

Next up is my layout for CSI.  Immediately when I saw this palette I went for my Core'dination's Amour paper!  And since my computer was acting up I had to pick from pictures that were already printed out.

Then since CHA was occupying my time this last few weeks I haven't had much time to play with the kits I've gotten.  I'm diving into my Noel kit now and here are the first two pages from that.  UGH  I already got my Noel December kit too.  I need some major scrap time to get through these!  Won't be happening anytime soon either - have work and classes this week and work the week after.  AND then my  hubby and I are going to take our own Christmas trip to New Orleans the week before Christmas - can't wait!

Here are a couple of tags I made for Core'dination's last month.  Just got it in my head that I wanted to try these and loved how they came out.  I embossed the tags, sanded them and then inked them with Tim Holtz inks.  Then I sprayed them with some Mister Huey inks and put them together.

Saturday with Unscripted Sketches and CSI

Can't believe it's already Saturday but this has been one LONG week.  I know I haven't posted much but getting ready for CHA was keeping me so busy.  Finally got all my stuff out last week - well the first wave anyway.  I'm sure there will be some last minute projects that need to get done but the things for the catalog went out on time.  Then I had somehow landed a horrible schedule at work.  Was to work Friday, Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.  Almost overwhelming for me who normally works no more than two in a row - then has several days rest before I tackle it again.  Anyway Friday I ended up with the assignment from H - I mean probably the worst I've had in I don't know when. Agitated patient who was spitting - like trying to keep a 195 pound two year old in bed and not hurting himself or me.  I was exhausted - came home and told my hubby I was just too old for this stuff.  Anyway as you know we keep our house constantly on the ready to show basis since it's for sale so when I leave in the morning my room is spotless, bed made, nothing on the counters.  I had had a fever blister after a sinus infection the week before and bought campho phanique (sp_) for the first time.  Had just thrown in under the counter when I left for work.  Well I has Lasix years ago so I have chronically dry eyes and I use lacrilube and drops in them nightly.  Went to do that and can even remember thinking wow that sure went in smooth (lacrilube is usually gooey).  About the time I started the left eye the right one started burning but your natural instinct is to blink so got it in the left as well.  Basically scalded my eyes.  Lubed and babied them all Saturday.  We are short so went in on Sunday - charge nurse took one look at me and sent me to the ER.  Three hours later was sent home and then had to follow up with Optho on Monday.  Good thing is I didn't burn my corneas and your eyes heal quickly so I'm back to normal - just still a little dry and need lots of drops. Then on top of that was trying to recover a jump drive and the CD that my SIL sent wiped out my photo program.  Had to order a new one (since I'd long ago lost the disc) and then couldn't get it to upload.  Finally my SIL called me last night and helped me fix it (he's my own personal go to computer wiz and guess what I can understand him!!!)
Here's my card for US this week.  Not sure I'm very happy with it but it works with the sketch. Please stop by and see our new Design Team's inspiration.

Next up is my layout for CSI case file this week.  Don't know what led me off into this grid pattern but it worked with the cute little pictures I had of Gavin from my trip to Houston.  AND this little guy got me four happy mails last week plus I had another one picked up of my granddaugthers!  Great week for happy mail!

Then last month we had a little challenge between the Design Team to create a chalkboard page with our Black Magic.  This was so fun.  The wonderful thing about Black Magic is the different colored base colors.  I started with a sheet that had a turquoise base.  Then I randomly sanded over my score it (hint) sand it while it's still on the ridge of the score it - much cleaner.  Then I took some pink based Black Magic punched a strip and sanded it to show the core.  Then I used my Spellbinder's die and cut more of the turquise flowers, sanded them and then curled and sprayed them with Mr. Huey and put them together.  I added a few Petaloo flowers as well since they perfectly match Core'dination's cardstock and done.  Oh forgot to add I had painted over a Crafter's Workshop stencil on here as well and added some circles in ink.  When you put down Black Magic over Black Magic is just blends it - you can't see that you are really using separate papers.  LOVE it!  AND this is my beautifully baby girl - caught her unawares that I was taking pictures at a family party.

Saturday with CSI and Unscripted Sketches

Happy Saturday - hoping to enjoy mine.  I have the schedule from "h" this week.  If you don't know I'm a critical care nurse (yep the oldest one in the unit- lol).  Somehow she scheduled me (I'm a 24 hour a week person) for six days these two weeks and with all the people off right now popping out babies I hated to complain BUT I'm not sure I'll live through it - lol.  Worked Friday, next up Sun/Mon/Wed/Thurs/Sun/Mon.  BUT on the brighter side - house is back on the market - hoping it gets shown a ton this week.  Been working on Core'dination's CHA projects all week long - today the David Tutura Cards (Core'dination's again) is on my plate.  But first up here's my card this week for Unscripted Sketches - please check over at the site - we have a bunch of new designers joining us with tons of talent.
Next up is my page for CSI this week.  Here's the color schedule - please check over at the site for more inspiration as well as the entire Case File.  Used some Core'dination's cardstock for my page and this is my daughter and her bff's Megan.  Got to spend last weekend in Houston with these two, Megan's baby and Brandy's other bff Liz.  Brandy and I went to see the show for SYTYCD (fabulous) then spent an evening out with Liz and Brandy and breakfast with Megan and her little man.

And then here's a page I did awhile back for my Core'dination's Design Team projects which I see has been posted to the blog so now I can post it here.  Love how I was able to find the perfect papers to match these cute photos of Gavin's outfit.
And yet one more - another one of Gavin - this kids takes the best photos~!

But it won't center - oh well - thanks for stopping by - your sweet words make my day!
